JTRE LondonAppleby Blue

Appleby Blue, founded by United St Saviour's Charity and designed by Witherford Watson Mann Architects, redefines 21st-century almshouses with a visionary approach to affordable housing. Developed by JTRE London, the building blends contemporary aesthetics with functional elegance, setting a new standard for modern senior living. Inside, the design evokes tranquillity, combining sophisticated spaces with a commitment to well-being.

Over several months, Palladian collaborated with the Appleby Blue team to create an architecture film and exterior and interior photography that capture the building’s unique atmosphere with a cinematic touch, showcasing how architecture can change lives.

In 2025 Appleby Blue almshouse won the 2025 RIBA Stirling Prize, along with additional recognition for housing design and client collaboration. The award highlighted the developer’s commitment to thoughtful, socially minded architecture.
